  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What models of the G70 have the auto start/stop function? It does not look like it is in the sport package for the 3.3T from what I can see as that panel on the console appears to be blank.

I believe only the 2.0 liter models have auto start/stop.

Is there anything needed to do to engage it? on the 10 mile or so test drive I did, I wanted to see it in action to see how rough it would restart after stopping. But the light seemed to be toggling itself to off, and I was never able to see it in action. I thought maybe the engine needed to warm up before the Auto Stop would work, but I think the drive we were on was long enough for that to happen.

Yeah, there are several conditions that must be met for the auto start/stop to function. One of which is for the engine to be fully warmed up, I believe... Here is a little video that explains the basics.

I assume that taking a slightly longer test drive might be helpful to be able to feel whether or not it's rough when starting/stopping?

Stops fine. Start is a little rough. The 2.0T is naturally a bit rough and unrefined during startup anyway!
