  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello. Is there a way to turn off the auto tilt side mirrors when you put car in reverse?

Per page 3-34 of the 2018 G80 Owner's manual ....

When you move the shift lever to the R (Reverse) position, the side view mirror(s) will rotate downwards to aid with driving in reverse. The position of the side view mirror switch (1) determines whether or not the mirrors will move: Left/Right :When either the L (Left) or R (Right) switch is selected, both side view mirrors will move. Neutral :When neither switch is selected, the side view mirrors will not move.

The side view mirror switch is located on the driver seat left arm rest.

Thanks! I'll give it a try...

Mine has no Neutral position.

Mine has no Neutral position.

yes it does.. look at the buttons for the Left and Right adjustment. when you press them the LED lights up Blue. when you press again the LED turns off.

OFF = Neutral.

if the LED is off for both and pressing the adjustment "joystick" does nothing, you are in neutral.

easy way to tell, go into Reverse, does the mirror tilt? if yes press the left adjustment and it will return to normal, if no, you are already in neutral.

Thanks, I'll check that out. I don't have curbs in my garage so I'd like to have the mirrors stay up!

Yeah I hate the auto tilt myself, I think I’ve used it once on 5 different cars in 15 years. I know how to drive and park don’t need the tilt to find a curb. I’ve never rubbed a wheel in 35 years of driving.......

Now my wife on the other hand......... 🤪
