  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

has anyone noticed when you put the car in reverse that the screen shows what is behind you then goes black for a couple of second then comes back. has anyone else noticed that? i thought it was the radio in HD was causing the problem but it is still there.

it's annoying cause usually i'm in a hurry, i'll start the car and immediately put it in reverse.

thanks,
sid

Mine does the same thing. Just had to get used to it.

I've had it go black once and not come back until I literally said what the f@ck and reset my head unit. I think it does it when I throw it into reverse before its done pairing with my phone and connecting to the satellite radio. I've learned to just sit there for a few seconds and allow the system to fully boot before throwing it in reverse and backing out.

Mine does not do this. No blinking at all.

Mine does not blink at all, it says "preparing" for a billisecond then just comes on. I have the larger screen system if that makes a difference.

Ditto... No blinking at all with mine either.

only time it does it when i first start the car and throw it in reverse. happens 1 out 10. doesn't happen if i'm driving then decide to throw in reverse. i'm guessing it is something to do with the phone. something else that is retarded is how often it prompts me to download the phone book almost weekly if not daily. i noticed that if you activate siri by holding the speak button then put the car in reverse, siri gets disabled.

And rightly so - you don't need Siri distracting you when you are trying to back out of a parking spot!

Ignoring the juvenile "retarded" statement, the local address book gets updated anytime you make a change in your email contacts or via the phone - so if you add a new contact, delete or edit one, the car will check each time and update it's database.

Agreed - I have not made any recent changes and the system does not prompt me to download.

.... which is actually much smarter than downloading your full list of contacts every time you fire up the car. I used to have to wait a few minutes before I could voice dial in my Sonata and Azera. Now, only update when my contacts have changed, and it seems to happen very fast. I'd guess that it only downloads the changes.
