Bad odor inside when the car is heated by the sun!

Many cars have malodor issues of different kinds.

Let me be specific with my issue, so people can point me to the right direction.

My Genesis 2015 has horrific smell when the inside is heated under the sun.
That's why I suspect the cause is something in the car that releases bad smell under heat.

What can it be??

Look under the passenger seat. Remove the burrito that was tossed there! Problem solved.

Or remove the dead squirrel from the engine compartment.

On a more serious note, perhaps a mouse or similar creature has made its way into your vehicle. I'd suggest inspecting vent system, including removing the filter. (In the glove compartment... easy to do) Also inspect carefully under all of the seats.

If you have floor mats you could try taking them out temporarily - easy to try. Also couldn't hurt to change the cabin air filter, again, an easy thing to try.

Do you have the A/C running before hand? Some cars can get mildew and bacteria in the vents that smell like death when it gets hot. Vents are perfect for bacteria in the summer. Dark, damp and add heat...

I don't allow food or drink in my Genesis. No bad smell at all even during the hot Texas summer. My wife's Nissan, on the other hand, smells like the trash receptacles at Chik-Fil-A.

I remember one time a co-worker thought I was joking when I told him "nothing but water" as he attempted to carry a sugar-laced iced tea bucket/cup into my car. This guy is a brilliant coder, but is stupid as dirt when it comes to almost anything else. He claimed "he could hold onto it" in the case of a collision or emergency braking. The rest of us just laughed.
