  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The fairly new battery in our 2015 5.0 keeps dying overnight. When I try to start it, some electrical component activates on its own (usually the rear window power shade, but once it was the HVAC system) but the car won't start. I assume there's a short or some type of electrical drain happening.

Ant ideas? Our nearest Genesis dealer is now 2 hours away.

To get good help, more information is needed.

What is the battery voltage when you park the car (last time before overnight)?
What is the battery voltage just before and just after you attempt to start it?
What is the battery voltage while the engine is running?
Has the battery been (load) tested?

Are you jump starting it each time after this happens?
