Some members in this forum have suggested at other times.... purchasing the correct viscosity oil(seems most prefer synthetic..mobil1 or similar that meets OEM specs)...at costco/walmart which is often on sale then taking it to the dealer for them to provide the labor/filter. Might be worth a call to your dealer of choice and find out IF they would do it that way and what the labor cost is.That way you can see IF you can save any $$ going that route.Agree with other replies to this thread that rock auto carries a good choice of quality parts...brake pads/rotors/filters etc. Also Autozone and similar parts suppliers can check the condition of the battery as well as sell the appropriate size one for about 200.00.Then its just a matter of doing it yourself or having dealer/shop provide the laborHi everyone, I was shocked today while changing my first oil change from the dealer.
I bought the car when it was 38k and now it's 43k. After oil change was done with tire rotation.
the bill came out to $84. But, advisor recommend to replace Battery (39%) cost = $404.75
Brake Pads, Front (OEM) - replace, Machine Rotors. = $341.19
Plus Shop charge $19.50 plus tax $45.64 total came out to $811.08.
I know I can get it cheaper using local mechanic shop to replace brake pads and change the battery by myself watching youtube.
is that price normal to you? or they try to ripped me off? my previous lexus didn't cost that much from the dealer.
any advice or recommendation will be very helpful for maintaining my first genesis.
thanks everyone.
