  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone had to replace the battery in their car yet. If so was it an easy process.

Bought h9 battery today from costco to use on my 2016 sig/tech package. $217. Question on whether to use odb power source or the jumper posts under hood to maintain power. Is it worth the trouble or just pull it out without keeping power to it?

Forgot to say. Original battery. 50k on it. Had it for 4+ years. No battery issues but trying to be proactive.

I replaced it myself and it was straight up plug and play. I didn't have any battery tenders or power sources hooked up to the car and I don't remember losing any memory settings.

The power trunk did not work after the battery was hooked up. It had to be manually closed from the open position and then it started working fine via the remote and trunk button on the dash.

Was your replacement battery a oem or other brand? My interstate h9 has only 100 amp hour rating vs the oem which has 105. Everything else is to oem spec. Has anyone found this to be a issue with this difference. 950 cca with 105 amh are harder to find.

I got my H9 AGM from O'Reillys. The H9 Interstate battery Costco should be fine. Almost identical specs to OEM. 1000 CA VS 1050 CA shouldn't be an issue since the CCA is the same at 950.

Within a month from buying mine last year, I had to replace the battery and did so with a DieHard from Advance Auto. Was as easy as a battery change has ever been on my old cars.

agreed on ease. Same battery purchased here too. The hardest part was FINDING a place with this battery. I feel that the cross section of people who have cars that use this battery and actually want to change their own battery is kinda small around here.
