previously i introduced the d2 forged rims. at close to 4K for a complete set, it may be out of most of our leagues. i've been searching for another option - good looking, original, and can still set people apart.
enter autoart wheels. autoart wheels are fully custom made 3 piece wheels. the outer rim and inner rim are forged, while the center (where teh spokes are) are cast. this provides the necessary strength on the outside while keeping costs down.
The rims are made of aluminum sheet metal rolled and then welded together to form a cylinder using "Friction Stir Welding", a patented welding process by pressing a rotating tool into the joint line.The welding creates low heat below the melting point which does not alter the aluminum property (the same technology is being applied on Airbus A380 one-piece aluminum wing skin made by joining many small stripes of aluminum sheet using Friction Stir Welding).
Finishing of the outer rim is hand polished to mirror finish.The inner rim is natural matt grey of heat treated aluminum.All center discs are sand blasted, chemically treated before applying one coat of powder prima, two coating of wet paint then one final clear coating.
All wheels are subjected to VIA certification (Japanese wheel safety testing standard) conducted in-house.
here are pictures of the wheels i can access. as a reminder, they are fully custom built per YOUR specifications. while they can be made into any color, the 4 colors that are standard and don't increase your price are Hyper silver, Glossy Black, Gun Metal, and Gold. Build time per wheel is 4-6 weeks - this is really fast turnaround for a custom built wheel. you can select size and offsets.

to the most important thing now, the price. must be expensive right?
actually, it's much cheaper than most other custom built wheels. I am able to offer the 19 inch ones at $2400 + shipping (if i get more than one set shipped at a time, you save!). are there any interest in these wheels?
i will only bring in a minimum of 3 sets of wheels at a time, as shipping cost is way too much.
her are teh approximate costs so far
for 19" wheels - $2400 for set, $2200 for first 10 buyers
for 18" wheels - $2100 for set, $1900 for first 10 buyers
if 5 sets are sold at a time, no matter what price is at the lower price - $2200 and $1900 respectively
first 10 buyers is for any size - in other words, first 10 purchasers. it could be 8 18" and 2 19" or 5 and 5, or 10 and 0
note: i'm not offering these yet, but just gauging interest. if there is sufficient interest i may begin an order thread
