  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Here’s a free mod to try before you commit to adding subs to your DH. It isn’t the very best solution but might be enough of an improvement for some owners.

We have a 2011 4.6 sedan with 17 speaker Lexicon and a 2015 Ultimate with 17 speaker Lexicon. The Lexicon in our 2011 has deeper, tighter bass than our 2015. Kind of disappointing. Posts show interest here in adding subs to the DH to fill out the Lexicon’s bottom end.

I noticed one of the threads mentioned the poster’s first sub installation didn’t gain much due to the enclosed, carpeted trunk soaking up the bottom end. A change of enclosure type solved the problem.

As an experiment, I dropped the rear armrest and opened the pass through. Basically, if the trunk is a subwoofer enclosure, you’re charging the enclosure type from sealed to ported. Bass response with the pass through open is much improved. To my ear it’s a little muddy at the lowest frequencies and still doesn’t reach as deep as of our 2011, but mid bass response is noticeably boosted and overall bass is much more present.

Just passing this along as the improvement may be enough for some of us.
