  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

How do I turn off the bell that rings when I approach a saved destination? I saved my home address in the navigation and every time I approach my home a bell rings and scares me. How do I turn that off? I looked in manual and can't seem to find the directions. I have only had my Genesis for 3 weeks, so I am still learning.

If you have home set to your building, you will get a chime when you approach. I get the chime before I turn the corner to our street because the angle of the road brings me close to my house. Some day I will get around to turning it off.

You will also get a chime when passing addresses that you have placed in your address book, even when not navigating to them. The way to silence the chime is to edit the entry in the address book and turn off the notification. I'm not at the car at the moment, but it is pretty obvious what you have to do on the edit screen.

easy peasy

Go to "Edit Address Book" and edit the home address (or any other address that gives you the chime when you don't want it). Down near the bottom of the edit screen is the setting that controls the chime,. Turn it off there and there will be no more chime when you approach home.

I'm not near the car so I can't give you exact instructions, but the above should suffice.

thanks for the advice--I am going to go try it
