  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Today, I was out and about without the DW. In preparation of running across a SS Camaro, I thought I would try a couple of launches. I turned the ESC off, brake torqued it some, and got on it. The first time things went well with some wheel spinning. The next two times, I brake torqued a little harder, spun the wheels more, and the rear drifted a bit to one side------------and then the ESC kick in!!! Would have been embarrassing if anyone would have been around.

What gives you the best results???

good luck man , short of pulling the DSC fuse...

all I can say is you need to have the DSC turned off, keep steering wheel straight (tough when the car is drifting due to wheel spin), and feather the throttle.

For me the ESC kicks in way harder with the esc off then it does on. When I'm going for it from a stand still, I leave the esc on, put it in manual one, and punch it (do not up shift manually, let the comp do it for you) I am way faster with ESC on then off. Fuse pulled doesnt help me be faster either. This may be harder for the v8s though, I'm a v6

Torque/throttle is retarded on the v8 with ESC on. It's very easy to feel the difference with the mark-1 human butt-dyno, at least in my '09.
