Black chrome oem wing badge

Hey, has anyone bought a black chrome rear oem wing badge? is it much darker in person? One thing that bothered me with my current badge is that the chrome kinda stood out in the rear and not in a good way, lol. I did some ebay searching and found this black chrome rear wing badge. Ordered a set last night, we'll see how it looks compared to the silver one.

Hmmm, I think I like this better than the one I have. I might be making a purchase when I get home from work

I tried this... it is more pewter in color. I tried the emblems on the hood and trunk. I have a 2012 Genesis sedan, and after a few weeks decided that the dark pewter color emblems does not match the chrome stripes on the front grill and trunk. So took them off and replaced with Chrome ones! (both darker emblems stood out like sore thumbs).

Not liking matte black too much, i think that doesnt flow too well with the car, i would however do matte black if i was to black out the car with no chrome

I had the black chrome wing too ( i mistakenly ordered thinking it was the regular one ) and noticed that it didn't match the chrome on my car...it looked kind of off....I ignored it of course even though it bothered me a bit until my mate ( who also owns a Genny ) told me that i had a different wing emblem....so i asked my friend to order it for me and he did...and i love the chrome better than the black chrome To each their own! you might like it or you might not! i still have the black chrome somewhere.......

well im planning to de-chrome my car, so it should match fine. Planning to get everything painted body color, except for the window trim which will be matte black. I have this thing against chrome, lol.

heres a pic of my old car, this will be kinda the theme i will be going for again

trying to decide if i should black out the whole front grill, or do prada style...

Cuz you get lazy over the years and dont want to put in the work, lol. I actually know what you mean, usually i would have already blacked out all the chrome in the first week of ownership. As years go by, i get lazier and lazier and go slower. Or you prefer the clean look of stock. Dont get me wrong, stock looks amazing on the genesis. However i just like to add a bit of a custom look to my cars, just to stand out from the crowd...

also even though stock looks amazing, i do have to say genesis went little bit overboard with the chrome. Little bit here and there for accent would look good, but the v8 is plastered with chrome every where. This is just my personal opinion.

For example, i think the chrome across the trunk kinda made my car look weird from the back end. The line didnt look right. However black makes it much more cleaner

But if i had a 2012, i would prob leave it as is. The line flows much better on the updated look, especially with the new tails.

What did you black out your rear chrome with? Did we go over this already???

i think we did on a different thread.. but for now i just used some trim black out tape. Forgot the company name. Its a matte finish, wrap it, apply some heat and it forms to the shape perfectly.

when i get home i'll check the brand. I was gonna do the window trim too, but i want something more permanent so i am gonna prob get it painted.

I just checked with my film supplier and they have vehicle wrap in almost every color possible, so I just ordered some and I'll try it out!
