  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does anybody know what the blank mini fuse receptacle top row 4th from left is used for? I noticed it was empty and the diagram on the cover showed it to be blank so I stuck a fuse in it. I heard a solid plastic thudding sound from low on the driver's side of the car like the gas pedal being slammed to the floor. I used the search button but didn't see anything like this.

Edited for clarity.

It's fairly common for car fuse boxes that have some unused fuse locations. Often, the contacts for the hot side of the fuse will be there, but contacts for the load side will be uninstalled.

Yeah, I've always had a lot of empty receptacles, this is the 1st I've ever had with only 1 empty spot. Something powers up when you put a fuse in it, I just don't know what it is making that noise. It is a fairly loud thud from the opposite side of the car, not the snapping sound of putting the fuse in. I'm half tempted to try it with the car running.

Rather than sticking a fuse in it again, I put my tester on it. It has 12.43V running through it with the ignition completely off.

Edit: I tried uploading a picture and it goes to 100% but won't show the preview.
