  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

All,
Just wanted to post about my individual experience, mostly to see if anyone else is running into the same issue. I have bluelink. I also have an older (but still supported) Android Wear watch (LG Watch Urbane). In march, I received notification that BlueLink was going to be "unavailable due to maintenance, and after the maintenance, you will be forced to upgrade your BlueLink app". Upgrade comes and goes, I'm forced to upgrade the app on my android phone.... no issues. HOWEVER, when I went to upgrade the associated app on my watch, everything goes sideways. Specifically, when the app opens, it shuts down almost immediately, and then tells me to "upgrade my bluelink app". App on the phone is most recent, app on the watch is most recent. Uninstalling and reinstalling does nothing. I'm assuming the android wear app is dead because of an upgrade error on the part of Hyundai dev, but I'm hoping that maybe someone else has it working?
Thanks,
BigdogBTS

sounds like the watch is no longer supported by the app. Android might support, doesn't me the app does.

Actually, it looks like Hyundai and Genesis finally have their acts together, and the "Hyundai Genesis" gets to be included as part of the Genesis family. As such, the "Genesis Intelligent Assistant" allows us to login with our BlueLink credentials. I installed the app, and that app works perfectly on my watch. YMMV, but I'm working again.

Oh I see, you were using the Hyundai app which is no longer compatible with your car? Is that right?

Sort of. I was using the Hyundai App because when I purchased the car (January of 2018), the Bluelink app was the only app that worked with my car as "Genesis" was still excluding the original "Hyundai Genesis" from their ecosystem. That app worked with but with the most recent update, now has a broken Android Wear component. I had never tried the Genesis app until today. I can now login to Genesis with my existing credentials (from my old bluelink account) and that app works on both counts..... Does that make sense?

IDK, but I have been using the genesis app since I got my car 3 years ago, before the Genesis brand came out (they had the app before the brand)
