  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I let my Bluelink expire in hopes to stop my faucet of spending, however in this Texas heat I’m rethinking it.

I went online to price it and it has a monthly subscription feature now. Is this just for one month or did Hyundai add a monthly payment feature?

I think they lost a lot of customers due to the 1 year upfront cost. It may be good in your situation to cancel after the summer and start again for summer heat.

Just renewed mine last month. $198 for the year. That's the minimum I was quoted to get the remote package.

Do you have to go to the dealer to enable Bluelink, or can it be done on your own?

Are you registered at (depending on model) www.mygenesis.com or www.myhyundai.com ? You can do it from there. Just click on the BlueLink link and follow instructions. You can download the appropriate app to your phone too.

How do I check to see how much time I have remaining on my subscription?

I'm stumped and frustrated by the whole BL money grab system,

So I took ownership of a 2015 Gen 3.8. I called looking for a trial deal or even just a discounted offer. One operator set me up claiming I could pay for one month of the Connected system and I would get set up on a trial for Remote. Of course it didn't work and when I called to complain they said they had no record of my conversation with "Latesha" even though she claimed to have loaded my account with the "special offer" notes.

So I go back into my account and ponder just signing up for one year of Connect (forced to to use Remote) and Remote. Whe I click one year of each, the section above the box showing costs it shows that if I chose 1 year plans, I have " 9 months remaining, plan expires March 18, 2019" WTF??

I call again asking rep why if I pay for 1 year, the plan shows expiring in 9 months?? He looked and looked and said he had no idea why. That didn't instill any confidence in this whole deal so I just said I'd think about revisiting their plans down the road even though he was trying to do the hard sell to get me to sign up even after I told him I'd lose 3 months of the plan according to the system.

Idiots.

I had all kinds of issues the last time I renewed and from what I was told that the BlueLink plans are for 12 month periods from the date you bought the car no matter if its active or now. So if you let it lapse like I did and start it up again lets say 2 months later the yearly option will only get you 10 months and they will adjust the charge from 12 months to 10. This confused the hell out of me and I could not find anything on the website stating this but after dozens of calls I finally got a CR rep to explain it to me and the amount charged was for less than 12 months.

Good info. Thanks. I'm betting it then is counting the initial free trial the car had and subtracting it from the year I wanted to buy. Sucks.

Yeh tried your suggestions ,no dice just my name and Vin No.came up.luckily I found I’d written the date down lol.

My wife texted me that Bluelink folks have posted to our Visa account no fewer than 6 "$0" transactions. Still no credit showing up.

I'm getting an offer of 1, 2, or 3 years for BlueLink. If I'm reading this right, it's $100/year (say $8.25/month) if you buy a one year subscription. Since they'll give you three months free, one year is only $75. If you get 2 years, then you're paying for 21 months at about $7.42/month and if you go for three years, it's about $7/month. It appears that you can sign up for each service independently, which contradicts other stuff I've seen.

I'm also supposed to get some kind of email alert from them activating my three month free trial. Or something...Screen Shot 2018-07-01 at 2.31.29 AM.webp

So if you want to have remote start access etc. for say 1 year. You have to pay $150. After 1 year, you'll be paying $200 a year.

Still not a bargain in my book.

I'd gladly pay say $100 a year to have just the remote+ Connect but that's my limit.

subscription services are the wave of the future.. why only have a one time transaction with a customer when you can rape them month after month.

the Genesis rates are of the lowest compared to some of the others:

Genesis $200
BMW $300
Lexus $240
GM OnStar - Monthly only $59.99 i.e. $720 a year.

for $500ish you can get your own remote start from several aftermarket alarm manufacturers, if you want an app for it then again $10-$20 a month.

wireless connections, bandwidth, server farms/data centers, and the employees that run them are not free.

Based on my screenshot, it's about $75/year if I prepay for up to three years

You have to subscribe to Connect to get Remote access. So add those two columns together to get your total. If you just want Connect (which I find useless) you can pay just $75 a year.
