  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

i'm looking at purchase a 2010 OR 2011 Hyundai Genesis 3.8L, V6 - the top of the line package with 17 speakers.

I have an iPhone 3GS and i'm wondering has anyone been able to get Bluetooth audio streaming to work with the car and the iPhone?

Thanks!

Ty

Interesting idea. Would the iphone be sending the stream in stereo?

I have a 2010 4.8 with the touchscreen nav (non tech) and BT streaming works well with my 3GS. Funny enough, it actually works better than the wired connection. Once you have all the pairing and connecting done, all you need to do is play something (Pandora, music, musical apps, etc.) and it the stereo will pick it up. Pretty cool.

Interesting. I'll give it a try.

Quick question:
Did you upgrade the 3GS to IOS 4.1?
Having read the OP's question I tried the bluetooth in my 2009 4.6 w/Tech this morning. Couldn't link/sync to the car at all, the iPhone 4, running 4.1, kept saying "searching" and never saw the Gen. Had to quit trying to catch a train, but I'm wondering if the new software/firmware broke the bluetooth?
(Fwiw, the Gen still had my call history, numbers, etc.)

I have 4.0 and the bluetooth syncs to the car just fine and I can make phone calls fine, but I just tried playing music over the iphone, via the ipod icon on the iphone, and the car did not care a bit.

Figured it out: had to delete the old pairing and sync as new. No problems, even picked up the 10 numbers/contacts from the old pairing. But...

Pandora, iPod, don't "stream". Only get music from the phone. If I connect the cable though it defaults to iPod and begins playing through the car speakers. Opening and playing Pandora first though allows for "switching" between the two. But if you go to iPod then Pandora you have to push the play button again on phone.

How do you do it without the cable?
Thx.
