OK, just in case you're curious about how these things are pricing out in the used car market.... I've been looking for a preowned 2017 for several months to replace an aging Lexus LS430 which I love but wanted more active safety and semi autonomous driving technology. In my neighborhood of Seattle there are three Hyundai Genesis dealers within 11 miles but new inventory is sparse and they didn't seem to show much enthusiasm or follow up after my test drive nor a willingness to bend much on pricing and pushed more towards leasing. It was difficult to find a used AWD model in the Pacific Northwest, there are some one year old cars with RWD that are priced in the low $50K's but almost no AWD. Some in the midwest but shipping charges make them more expensive.
I found my Caspian Black w black interior in Beaverton, OR at a dealership, previously owned by one of the managers. It was a three hour trip for me, about 190 miles. 9603 miles on the odo, paid $54,450 plus WA state taxes (10.3 %!). Meticulously maintained and lived at the dealership, two oil changes and a final inspection. Nav system update, debugged and sorted out so everything seems to be working, afterall it pretty much lived at the dealership. I was willing to pay up a bit for a well documented sorted out car. They were really great about spending time with me, I talked to the previous owner who had a new 2018 in a different color at length. I had determined that I was willing to give up the maintenance valet service since it didn't get great ratings in my area and the schedule doesn't look like it will cost much if I pay out of pocket. The dealer took a personal check on a Sunday and delivered the car to my house the next day with two drivers and an extra car to get them back home.
I tend to look at cars as appliances now (after 3 Mercedes, 4 BMW's, 2 Porsches, 1 VW Bug Convertible, and 5 Lexuses) and tend not to care for cars as well as I used to so I figured I wouldn't feel so bad if I bought a less expensive used one and left it outside most of the time. Having owned this car for a four days, it still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.
