  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

A small annoyance of driving with the windows down is that the passenger belt buckle bounces against plastic door pillar cover. I came up with a cheap and easy solution.

Pack of 3 Neodymium disc magnets from home depot
Gorilla tape
soft velcro

Open both passenger side doors and pull the weather strip rubbers out on the pillar side then gently pull the plastic cover from the edges until the top portion is free. I set in the 3 stacked magnets about 6 inches from the top in line with where the belt hangs naturally and secured them with some black Gorilla tape, there's a pocket from the mold process that the magnets set into quite nicely.

I also attached a strip of soft velcro to the top inside of the buckle to prevent marring of the plastic cover

About 5 bucks and 10 minutes of time

Thats good stuff man !! Thanks for sharing,. This is probably the first car ever that I never put the windows down.

So car windows still roll down?

5 min fix. Just take the front and rear weatherstripping loose and snap the panel loose at the top and add a very strong magnet. I used 3M double back and that’s it snap panel back on and weatherstrip back on. Done

Thank you both for sharing. This issue has been a small annoyance for me and I have been trying to think of a way to manage it without adding anything noticeable to the interior (like lining the plastic with felt, etc.). Even when the windows are up (which is most of the time) the buckle bounces off the plastic while driving over uneven pavement with nobody in the passenger seat.

thanks for this - Yeah, previous cars I have owned have a receptacle built-into the B-Pillar to mitigate this issue.
This has been driving me crazy!

Just did the install - Perfect - Again, thanks so much for this idea!
