  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Genesis losing brake fluid but no
Signs of dripage on driveway. Any suggestions? Thanks.

If the brake reservoir is low on fluid; then it may only mean that your brake pads are worn down. The brake fluid reservoir usually looses fluid when the brake pads get thinner as they wear down; which requires more fluid from the brake reservoir to activate them and less fluid stored in the reservoir.

At 60+K my front rotors on my 2015 Ultimate started getting the pulsing pedal at moderate and harder stops. Pedal also seemed a bit soft compared to 20k earlier. I checked the pads and they were down to around 1/4".

Picked up the Powerstop kit CRK7030 (RockAuto) with the coated rotors. What a difference. Thought because the pedal was soft I'd need to bleed the system. Nope. The new parts made a big difference in the pedal sensitivity, almost touchy now.

Powerstop braking products are great. I use them on my other cars. I made the mistake of going with Raybestos Element 3 brake pads instead of Powerstops on my Genesis. You get what you pay for.:(

The Raybestos Element 3 pads are good performers for the cost($20 a set), but they get hot and pulsate with very hard braking. Powerstop pads cost more, but they seem to be the better option for spirited driving without any fading or brake pulsating.

The Element 3 pads are a good performing low cost option for normal driving without a lot of hard braking.
