Good Evening All,
I hope you can help with a strange issue we're having with our 2016 Genesis Sedan. About 7-8 months ago we noticed that the 3rd high mounted stop lamp was staying on while the taillights were on at a lower intensity (dimmer) than usual. When you'd apply the brakes it would light up full strength the same as the taillights/brake lights. Please see the pics attached for the abnormal and then normal operation. We did replace the right hand inner taillight cluster due to a turn signal issue and that seemed to fix everything until tonight....
While driving home I was noticing that road signs seems to be REALLY bright behind me; turns out with my headlights on (in the ON or AUTO position) the brake lights and CHMSL were on at full brightness like someone was stepping on the brake pedal (which we weren't). Could the two issues be related? I was getting people flashing their lights behind me because they were being blinded by the ultra bright LED taillights and wanted me to take my foot off the brake.
Any suggestions?
