  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've been all over all of the Hyundai Genesis sites, exploring, learning, reading and am really excited to pick up my 2010 4.6 next week!!!
What' really been bothering me is the grill under the license plate is different this year. It's just some black plastic, blunt & blocky looking unlike all photograps I've seen with the 2 horizontal chrome bars going from left to right. I'm unable to locate the old style grill, and of course unsure if they're interchangable. Anyone else discouraged with the looks of this years lower grill?.... any suggestions on how to make that look a little classier?

It's not interchangeable because the new 4.6 with tech has the adaptive cruise.... the black lenses on the bottom house the radar unit!

The 2010 4.6 without tech is identical to the 2009.

The 2010 4.6 with tech has the radar unit behind those black plastic lenses.

Don't worry. Be happy.

Has anyone noticed white discoloration of the lower front bumper grill? There are 3 levels. The top level of the grill is starting to uniformly turn white. I know a lot of people probably don't look down there, but can you guys check it out?
Part #13 in this illustration.

I haven't noticed that problem, but on the top portion of the grill, the part that's attached to the hood, my chrome was starting to "bubble" and separate looking like it would eventually flake off. The dealer replaced it last time I was in.

Here's what I'm talkin' bout Willis.

I'll double-check mine later tonight but mine was jet black last time I washed the car.

Those pics look like photos of paint overspray! If you rub a finger across it, does it flake off or not? Any scent to the particles? I'm wondering if you have a pinhole radiator leak, steam-blasting the grill...

It's not paint as far as I can tell, I have applied every chemical you can to it and nothing happens. It's very uniform fading as far as I can tell. It's perfectly lined across the top of the lower plastic grill. I have checked other 2009 & 2010 V8's and I didn't see it. I would have to say negative to your radiator thesis simply because, it's so perfect and uniform, discoloration (also the fluid in the radiator resevoir is totally full)....nice try though.:)

I was going to get snippy and say the adaptive radar is to automatically slow the car down when approaching the car in front of you while you are texting...:p

I've seen this kind of wear on 10 year old chrome plated parts. Perhaps it is a coating problem.

I like that. (Go ahead and get snippy) :D

While at my selling dealer this past week, I had to point out to the Service Writers (not to the salespeople) the 2010 4.6 Tech. I told them that there was one parked near Service, and they asked how did I know. I pointed out the difference in the lower grill. I did not tell them that I learned everything I know about the 2010 4.6 Tech, from this website BB. :grouphug:

I looked online it's a $100 part no big deal. The problem is you have to take apart the bumper. I pointed it out to the service manager, who said, that he would have to order the part but that they would take of it.
