  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Buy now or wait for G80 rebranding?

I just checked 4 local dealers here in South Florida and you are correct. Not one V8 and only (2) 2015's left.

sounds like even if i wanted to get a 2016 3.8 before the years end, it would be hard to find one

In Southeast Florida at 50 miles radius from Miami there are 132 new 2016 3.8 and just 1 2015 V8, this one is at Potamkin Hyundai.

If you get a '17' Genesis, remember that you get a title that says it's a Genesis, not a Hyundai as a rebadged '16' will state. Could be a significant difference when you sell or trade in. Only time will tell how much.

Almost certainly the future resale difference will not offset the present difference in the initial purchase price. Existing Genesis sedans are being aggressively discounted. Not something you can expect on a first-on-the-lot G80.

Right now in Canada (Ontario, anyway) there is $8k on the hood of every Genesis sedan before any negotiation. There is just no way that, 4 or 5 years down the road, a 2017 Genesis G80 is going to command an $8k premium over a 2016 Hyundai Genesis 3.8.
