  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Buyers remorse?

None regarding the Genesis, however after about a month we hated our Acura (the car I had before the Genny) , the Acura seats made our backs hurt on trips over 40 miles or so. Then at about 50k on the Acura the problems started.

I wouldn't necessarily say "remorse", but the Genesis 5.0 never lived up to my expectations that were set by my previously owned 2006 Infiniti M45.

I got an exceptional deal and financing on the car, and I think that is what swayed me to give Hyundai a try. All looked good on paper; a V8 with over 400hp, rear wheel drive, all the amenities that one would expect in a sport luxury sedan.

After living with the car for 8 months and 7000 miles, it was the little things that began to wear on me.

While I am sure it is just fine for most; the handling (or lack of) frustrated me. The car is a wonderful freeway cruiser, but do not expect it to carve up a canyon road.

The infotainment system needs refinement; it is ridiculous to have to scroll page by page through hundreds of artists just to find one.

The climate control took forever to kick in on a cold day, and the fan "logic" made no sense; it would not blast the heat until warmed up to the preset temperature. Rather, it would maintain the same fan speed until the interior warmed up; which seemed to take entirely too long.

Then there is the issue of the driver' seat bottom cushion and cover that looked like it had 80,000 miles on it after only 500 miles.

Don't take these comments as bashing on the car; I think it is an exceptional value when purchased in the used market: with low miles and priced in the neighborhood of mid $20's. One would be hard pressed to find a better car for the money at that point. It just wasn't the right car for me; I traded it in on a 2012 Infiniti M56S, and am very happy.

The Japanese make refined machines no doubt.

The Koreans look nice on the surfaces, but beyond that they're behind.
