  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've been a regular in this forum for several years, totally convinced that I would purchase a Genesis when it came time to replace my 2002 Nissan Maxima GLE, my third straght Maxima. My thanks go out to all the particpants in the forum, who have made my experience terrificly educational. When it came time to purchase the Genesis and I had a few nagging quibbles, particularly about rear wheel drive (being from the snowy North), a salesperson alerted me to the Azera, of which I'd previously been ignorant. I compared the specs (using Edmunds.com-and also benchmarked it against the Lexus ES 350 and BMW 5 Series using the same tool) and was surprised to learn that those that matter most to me (interior dimensions, performance, comfort and price) put the Azera close on a par with the Genesis. I drove the Azera and was even more impressed, finding the ride and handling to also compare favorably versus Genny. So I paused, briefly, until recently learning about the 2012 Azera's "upgrades" and single option package. The 2012 will be "fluidic," which means swoopy and less rear headroom. For the only option package upgrade, navigation, panoramic sunroof and 19" wheels are mandatory-none of which are attractive to me. Nor was the substantial price increase. So I bought a silver over gray leather Azera Limited and paid the Hyundai Circle price-just a tad over $28,000. Now, with 1,500 miles on the car, I can say with confidence that I love it and certainly made the right choice for me. If you have even niggling doubts about the Genesis, check out the Azera-if you can, because there are virtually no 2011 Azeras out there to be found. Again, thanks to all and happy motoring!

Enjoy your purchase! Always purchase what is right for you. The 2012 Azera's navigation will actually be standard on the base. My wife hit the pause button on the Sonata/Optima purchase once she saw the new Azera.

I had an '06 Azera for 4 years - I really liked it, and would still be driving it if the Genesis hadn't come along. Enjoy!

Congratulations on the new Azera!

One of the greatest attributes of the Genesis (for me anyway) is rear wheel drive. I'd argue that you would've seen this alone as an upgrade over your previous Maximas (4DSC!), even in the snowy north (winter tires & driving skill> FWD/AWD marketing sensationalism).

Still, I think you chose correctly for your priorities over the ES (boring) and 5 Series (expensive).

Speaking of the Azera, here's an in depth video overlook of the 2012.

In addition, here's a look at Hyundai's new Chinese sub-brand concept.

While I doubt something like this would make to production for the sub-brand (since these sub-brands are basically iterations of older gen models), the side would make a good basis for the next gen Genesis (btw, the front of this concept is just simply awful).
