  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

after following directions posted here i changed cabin air filter this morning without problems. muchas gracias amigos.

Two Things:

Was the filter dirty? Slightly or really bad?

Can you post a link to (or re-post) exactly which set of instructions you followed? I have seen different versions and I'm not sure which one is best.

I just changed mine last week. It wasn't full of debris or anything, just black, and the new one was grey. I would advise everyone to swap their's out yearly.

Changed mine with all of the info from another thread. Thanks to all who posted. It was not that difficult and took about 25 mins. Hardest part for me was releasing the arm, the clips are easy if you lift the glove box first then twist a bit while turing to pull out.
After 2 years (24,000 Km) it was really dirty. It should really be changed yearly as mentioned in the OM.

Just changed mine at 13900, quite a bit of debris.

Here's a photo after the third wack on top of the dryer (the first two had more stuff):

I think if you park outside, it gets worse. I just dealt with the one on my aunts Lexus ES350, and it smelled like mildew and was full of leaves. I vacuumed it, sprayed it with Lysol, ran the fan full blast and sprayed lysol in the intake vents near the windshield wipers, then replaced the same filter cause I didn't have a new one.
