  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Why do people continue to call their little tube with a cone filter on it stuck up under the hood of the car a Cold Air Intake?

I mean come one, the key word here is COLD but yet the intake is not receving any of the OUTSIDE cold air. It's just sucking in the hot air from under the hood. If it's a true CAI, it would also be more of a Ram Air system.

I've done a few true CAI's on some of my other vehicles but haven't gone that far yet on my Genney. We are seeing several people/companies on here offering to make a CAI or have done so, yet none of them are really a CAI. They are just round tubes with a cone filter stuck on the end. They still draw in hot air from under the hood.

I'd love to see a true CAI for the Genney. I may even purchase one if it's well sorted out, functional and fits nicely with minimum cutting on the front facisa.

+65436765434567876543. My altima drew cold air from right behind the foglight. That was TRUE cold air. Everything for the genesis is WAI or SRI (Short Ram Intake). Call a spade a spade here.
