  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

hey All - recently had my #G70 returned to me post concierge service (Canada) with severe "road rash" across the entire front end - initially the dealer was going to make things right - now I'm directed to call my insurance company? - thoughts and suggestions?

Call your insurance company, explain the situation, and see what they say. They "should" work to your best interest.

This solidified my aversion to using the concierge service.

Oh man this is my biggest fear. Which dealer is this if you don't mind me asking?

your insurance should cover it and go after the dealer for reimbursement, it won't raise your rates most likely as it is a not-at-fault issue. Unless you live in a no-fault state.

FYI. No-Fault is not part of the auto repair/cause of loss part of your policy. It references the medical part of policy, not the car.
Your insurance company will, or should, take control. They will repair your car, less your Collision deductible. They will go after the dealer, because the represent you and you say the dealer did it. If they recover the loss from the dealer's carrier they will refund your deductible. But this is a classic "He says, She Says" deal. Unless you filled out a prior damage listing with the driver prior to them leaving in your car and both of you signed it or you have a dash cam (which everyone should) or you took time stamped photos with the dealer rep when he picked the car up and again when he returned it, I would say chances of recouping your deductible are slim to none. Insurance company cannot afford to spend thousands fighting for coverage of your damage when repairs are a few thousand or less.
