Can any 1 help please, rain sensor?!

Hi. Im owner of a midle east option genesis sedan 3.8 v6 2012 my genesis has most of technologies unfortunately it has no rain sensing wipers, i realy wanna have that thing in my car, can any 1 help where i can get it? Regards..

I.am sure its possible but very very expensive due to how controls are integrated

Sensor is built into a module that mounts inside the car, behid the rear view mirror. Then you'd have wires running inside to a control station. I don't think it's going to be all that easy to intergrate. You'd have to rip most of the interior in the front out to install.

I would not write it off so quickly options on cars now are modular and plug in play. Most likely there is a connection or plug under the trim around the top of the windshield where the unit mounts. The question is do you also have to replace your wipers control stick with one that says AUTO instead of INT? Also even if you did replace the wiper control stick and install the rain sensor you still will most likely have to have a Hyundai service center activate this option in the cars computer. The later can be the hardest part of the job as there is no precedent for this and the tech line is ZERO help...... as this is not done period. So it may be doable but it will not be easy. Do some more research and good luck my friend!

May also need a different windshield. As I remember, when an OEM windshield needs to be ordered (like mine was) there is a difference between rain-sensor cars and non-rain sensor cars.

^This is correct.

Also, the auto wiper stock has an additional placement for the AUTO feature, so I'm guessing there is more to replace in the column too.

This is not worth the cost and problems linked to add this feature.

I think its going to be hard to get that option i think it doesn't need to do all that things to get rain sensing wipers, i will continue on my manual wipers but i think having the rain sensing wipers is not too necessary, its nice thing but without it i still can enjoy my genesis.. Adding options after the fact can be a daunting task mainly because you will get ZERO help from the Manufacture with this as they want you to buy the car with them on it in the first place. Also a thing to remember is that even if you install a factory option on your car perfectly the dealer will NOT warranty it due to the fact that it did not come installed with the car.

+1 - This was actually very easy to retrofit rain sensing wipers on my old car. You would be surprised. It only took the rain sensing prism and sensor and a configuration change on the control module. There was no wiring and no stalk change. It just takes a little research with the Genesis. I'll bet the retrofit is not that hard.

I don't even use mine. It WAY overreacts and in a light sprinkle it will got batshit at full speed.

Careful what you wish for. The factory rain sensing wipers lose the intermittent option. When the rain sensing wipers over react, you have no way to slow the wipers below the slow continuous speed. Very frustrating.

It's just a guess but I am assuming from your name and "Middle East" options on your Genny that you live in a desert climate somewhere. So do I and I have seen the rain sensors work just one time. They seem to work well, in the one instance I observed, but rain sensing wipers wouldn't be anywhere near the top of my list of options as it just doesn't rain that much where I live.

I was just wondering why you appear to be so enthusiastic about them.

Actually u are so right dear, the place i live is hot but it also rains in the winter alot, i think using manually is not too hard hhhh i just liked to have that option for nothing just when some times my friends ask me about its option n i like to say it has the auto wipers too because its a luxury car it should be included thanx alot my best regards
