Can default settings for 2017 G80 be changed?

I would prefer Drive Mode default to Economy, also Address Book default to Name instead of Date

In this case no you can't it will automatically default to Normal. I'd have to read the 1" thick nav manual to be more informed.

I did read the 1” manual and could find no indications one can reprogram default settings. Not for anything, but who or why would one want to search address book by date info entered?

I'll have to look, but I thought there were sort options once in the navigation. There are a few clumsy things like when you use the "send to car" option it does not go to the address book.

You are right, there are 3. However the default is date entered. I can’t think why this would be useful. IMHO “By name” seems to make so much more sense.

It would make some sense if you were vacationing someplace and wanted to go to the most recent visited places, like your hotel. Other than that, alphabetical makes much more sense, especially if you are looking for a place visited months ago it would be easier to find by name rather than date.

The only reason that comes to mind is, about 9:00 AM you realize you need to visit Zorbeta's Genesis Car Parts for an item. But because there are a few home chores needing your attention you'll go to Zorbeta's sometime after 2:00 PM. But, to be ready to go at 2:00 PM you program the GPS.

Now you complete the home chores and it's 2:00 PM; you jump into your Geni, turn on the Nav and wala! Zorbeta's is number one on the list!

With my luck I'd need to go to AAA!

The way you would have to do this is use a circuit to switch the drive mode in a similiar way i did to operate the heated/cooled seats.

I have noticed my 2018 start in eco mode. I wondered if it has anything to do with being under half a tank?

I do miss the heated steering wheel staying on every start. Did it in my '15

If I may, there are actually 4 drive modes; eco, normal, sport and snow. The G80 will always default to normal when shut down and restarted.
