After I got my 2010 3.8+Tech, I asked my dealer (who sells hardly any Genesises) to change the remote entry button to open all 4 doors with one push, the way the owner's manual says the dealer can do. He told me that he called the (regional?) tech rep, who said the manual is wrong and it can't be done.
After I gave him the phone numbers (found on this forum--thanks!) of the national tech rep and a dealer who made this change, my dealer finally did the job.
Last week I took may car in to have him fix the outside mirrors tilt-down. The manual says they tilt according to the position of the mirror adjustment switch (as my brother's 2009 3.8 does):
Switch at left: both mirrors tilt down
Center: neither
Right: only right mirror goes down (good when parallel parking)
But mine do:
Switch at left: both mirrors tilt down
Center: neither
Right: both mirrors tilt down (BAD when parallel parking)
Well, my dealer said he called the tech rep, who told him that this feature was removed part way through the production run of my car, and I'm stuck with what I have. ?????????
This sounds like BS to me, especially in view of my previous experience. First, they didn't remove the feature, it's still there, in changed form. Second, it makes no sense why Hyundai would want to change the feature this way midway through a production run.
Has anyone else heard of features being removed the way my dealer says?
