  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Climate control is off but keeps automatically turning on the fresh air. I thought this might be the smart (not so smart) ventilation try to keep the carbon dioxide levels down but it happens when smart ventilation is off and all the windows are down too.

Temps here are cold in the morning, mild in the day right now. I use the heat for my hands in the morning (middle and foot vents on high) then after work I turn off the climate control and drive with the windows down. The "smart" controls then seem to think that I need the fresh air on and the middle vents start blowing warm air. I reach over and put it back to recirculate to shut these vents off and it keeps switching fresh air back on!

Really disappointed with the climate control as a whole. I have read that many love it but not me. Doesn't seem to let you control it much. If I have it on "auto" I cannot choose what vents I want. My hands are always cold and even with the heated wheel I like the vents to blow on my hand to warm them. "Auto" seems to only use the windscreen and foot vents? This and the fresh air issue have me irritated about this car. Heaven forbid someone be able to set the controls how they like them. I never really have been happy with automotive climate systems so I realize that they don't really seem to fit my particular desires and that is fine. But I really shouldn't have to keep turning the stupid thing back off every ten minutes!!!

I don't have the 2015 manual on this computer but I think this is the same
When driving, the auto air conditioner
controls CO2 concentration and
helps maintain pleasant air in a vehicle.
When the system controls CO2, the
symbol ( ) displays in the AVN
monitor.
You can turn on or off the CO2 control
function as below.
1. Start the engine.
2. While pressing the driver mode
selection button, press the air
intake control button (Recirculated
air) at least 4 times within 2 seconds.

Can't help much more as I'm one of the people that really like the climate control. I've not touched the setting since soon after I bought the car as it works so well.

Unless you are passing by a dead skunk, fresh air works well even in very low temperatures. 72 degrees is still 72 degrees.

Is that different than just having the smart vent box unchecked?

Did you turn off auto defog too?

It's normal for the recirculate function be be disabled when the system is off. If you don't want air coming through the vents, you'll need to keep the fan on low and keep air diverted to the floor. Also don't keep the system in heat or you will have hot air blowing through the cabin all the time no matter what setting you choose. Even off, if the last setting was to make heat, the blend doors will keep the heater core active and the 10% mandated draft (to keep potential CO buildup down) will let fresh air through the vents. The recirculation mode does not close off outside air under any circumstance, it only reduces it significantly.

that's a LOT going on. my 2015 Ultimate climate control works great. I rarely touch it except for adjusting louvers for air flow direcrion and temperature.

No idea but worth a try
Looks like they made it more user friendly. There is a box that you uncheck in the climate controls. I have it all turned off.

I'm really not crazy about the climate control.
