  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello

Does anyone know how the warranty works in Canada when you buy a used Genesis g70 ( from and not from a dealer)

I'm debating upgrading my aging A5, and when I heard 10 years warranty I went and test drove the G70, only to find out they only give 5 years in Canada.

So now I'm debating 15k extra for an S5 Sportback, or try to find a used G70 3.3t sport.

I thought the g70 were rate, until I went to the track, where I saw like 10 lined up, and one of them for sale a few weeks later.

So I'm wandering for the extended warranty works on an used G70, and if theres a way I can find out if the previous guy chipped the car ( voiding the warranty)

Bought my 2019 G70 2.0T used in June ‘19 (from a Ford dealer!) and all original warranty has applied, even the Remaining 5 year concierge service which has been great. Have had no problems and am thoroughly enjoying my ride.

as said by others, CAD warranty is 5 yrs/100k. this starts from the in-service date of the car. so whatever is remaining is taken over by the subsequent owner.

as for the S5 vs G70, drive both then decide. lots of discussion on this forum too for what that's worth.

In addition to what Andy said...... I added a 5 year 100km extended warranty on top of the original... but I bought from a Hyundai dealer.
You added 5 more, for a total of 10 years and 200k km?? How much was it?

I negotiated it along with the cost of the car itself.. 3k CAD
That's a very good deal, depending on the car lol

I just walked out of a Audi dealership, where 10 years/160km from the in service date was 1750$/CPO+6500$ extended warranty. ( Didn't get it, had like 60k km)

Thanks. The car is a very well maintained 2107 G80. Pre-purchase, it needed a full brake job to pass safety. About two months later, it had a small coolant leak and a bad front proximity sensor - both repaired under warranty.

I like the extended warranty for my own piece of mind..... :)
