  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

In metro Atlanta, I have been trying to get out the door quotes via email.

Only one dealer did so. With the other 4 dealers, I have multiple sales people emailing and calling me, asking me to test drive. I reply that I have already done so, and want a quote on a specific configuration (2020 3.3 sport with 100k /10y extended warranty). I tell them that I am ready to buy, the only question is where.

The also spam me with links to cars that do not match my specification.

None of them will give me a price via email. Other than the one actual quote, I got one other supposedly out-the-door price verbally (much better than the only written one). Every one of them says they will do so, but I get nothing.

I find this strange as I have bought 2 new Subarus in the last two years and had no problem negotiating via email. They gave quotes, and I picked the best, bought the car and lived happily ever after.

Is there some kind of Genisis policy about internet/email bargaining, that prevents the dealers from giving quotes? Or are Genisis dealers just stuck in the old ways?

They're basically Hyundai dealers, and know they can make more profit playing off a face to face transaction. They want you to test drive to get you into their store so they can try their many sales antics on you. Sorry.

Sad, I am immune to the tactics, but want to buy. I try to warn them that I don't care about anything other than out-the-door price. I guess I will just have to wait and see if they are more reasonable when the next model year trickles out.

I will try again, in the xmas- new year time-frame. I am in no hurry, my 2010 G37s with 122K is still functioning well, but the shocks/struts are shot, and it is annoying to drive now.

Several of us came from G's, I sold my '09 G37 just after buying my '19 G80, last year. They are great cars, my G37 was amazing.

You could always go in and ask for a quote. My G80 purchase was as painless as it can get, they gave me the keys to one the night before, I liked it and decided to buy. I threw out a price, they countered, I threw out my final price and they accepted - not bad. Was planning to pay cash but they offered a 3 yr lease at 1.4%, so I took it.

Good luck!

Makes no sense right now. Since the virus thing a few dealers, both new and used, are saying you can buy from home. Only thing I can think of, they don't have what you want and figure once on the lot you will fall in love with what they do have.

I tried similar. A dealer I bought 4 cars from sent me an email and I replied with what I wanted and what I'd pay. No answer. I was out with the wife one day and thought I'd check out another dealer just to see what they had. They had what I wanted and drove it home two hours later.

Just call them. I called nearly every dealer with 500 miles who showed a G80 Sport AWD that was not Black or Blue. I told them that I was going to purchase a G80 in the next couple weeks and I would have no trouble traveling to get a good enough deal. I told each one what the best deal I had been offered so far and what I thought it would take to make the deal and not to worry about financing. I told them I wanted an OUT THE DOOR number minus tax.
About 25% tried to play the car salesman as usual game with me, ie... I should fill out a bunch of paperwork so they could see what would "fit my needs". I still get an occasional email from these chuckle heads, letting me know that they are ready to assist me. About 50% just sent the MSRP minus some rebates. But a few actually made an effort to get my business. These dealers I pushed till they cried poor and then put them on the list.
When I was satisfied with the my list I started calling all the local dealers to see if any of them seriously wanted to sell me a car. I told them what and who was lowest offer and said I would give them an extra $500 if I did not need to drive 350 miles to buy my car. One (and only one) local dealer stood up and said they would take that deal and we came to an agreement the week before Memorial day. The next day my selling dealer called me up to tell me that Hyundai had just added an additional $500 to their veteran's rebate. Some things were just made to happen.
By the way the best extended Genesis warranty I was offered was $12XX for 8 years 85 miles bumper to bumper.

Those Genesis/Hyundai dealership located in Atlanta are worthless. I live in NC and also did a 500 miles radius search. BTW, Fitzgerald Hyundai Rockville was a total scam. better stay away from Finance Circus Clown B. Muroff. They don't honor internet quotes.

Anyway, ended up getting my G80 Sport AWD from Genesis of Charlotte (Keffer Hyundai). No nonsense or trick. internet purchasing experience was out standing.

Ask your dealers if they will accept circle A pricing? That negates all the BS dealer games if they will accept that pricing. Stick around here long enough to be able to PM R_spec to see if he will help you out? That will cut to the chase on pricing. R_spec has helped a number of us here avoid the exact BS your going thru.

Definitely agree with you on Keffer, they have outstanding pricing. If they had what I wanted when I got my G70 I would have traveled the 5 hours from GA to get it. I plan on getting a G80 in a few years and if I can't get the local dealers to act right they will earn my business.

It's been interesting to read this feedback on Keffer. I see a lot of mixed things on the forums. I definitely tried to work with them before purchasing from Genesis of Dallas, but had a rough experience and gave up.
