  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just bought a 2015 Genesis with the ultimate package. The salesman paired the phone for me and it worked fine for about ten days, until today.
I went to make a call and the message said there is no device recognized.
I followed the steps to pair a new device and the paring keeps failing.
Any ideas?

I had a real hassle pairing mine. I had tried the method in the manual about 20 times before I found a way that worked. I wish I could remember all of the sequence that finally worked, but instead of pushing the phone button on the wheel, I had to back into the pairing using the touch screen/DIS knob.

I had a similar issue with my Genny, older, but same issue. I had to delete the Genny from the bluetooth devices ALSO delete my phone from the Genny and start from scratch. It works 85% of the time. When it doesn't, I have to pull over, stop the car, turn car and phone off. Reboot phone, start car and I'm golden from there.

Don't know if it'll work for you, but, best of luck. I just wish Hyundai would fix all these crappy problems before they put them on the market. If the '15s are going to be like my '10, I'll never buy another Hyundai. Too many friggin' stupid issues. Now I'm having problems with my internal and external headlights. Car was in shop for 2 days and still not fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Still not having any luck. Spent a lot of time yesterday.

What model phone and are there any other phones paired with your car? The reason I ask is that this system has some weird preferences regarding "priority" settings for the phone in set-up. We have two iPhones paired with our car and occasionally one won't pair until I go thru the setup again. I'm still trying to figure out exactly what setting the system wants to consistently assure smooth pairing and I think it has something to do with handing off from one phone to the other. For what it's worth, when it works it works very quickly. Good luck.

I know what you mean. :) Our 2010 had a lot of little electronic issues - not so much that anything needed repair but I'd often have to "re-boot" the car to make it behave.
Our 2015 seems to have come from a completely different engineering department. It has shown NONE of those oddities and in fact seems to be one of the best engineered cars I've had. All of the electronics (and there are MANY!) are working flawlessly for the 2000 miles we've driven it so far. ZERO glitches.

I have an old flip phone, lg accolade. No other phones paired at this time.
It worked fine for the salesman. In less than a minute he had it paired and had all my contacts downloaded.
I have removed genesis from the screen and rebooted my cell but still does not allow pairing.
I use Verizon prepaid as that's all I need.
Any other help would be appreciated

I hope this isn't an insulting question but have you started over step by step with the owner's manual? It's hard to try to go through the steps in a forum - if you could tell us exactly what step failed we might be able to do a better job of helping. :) Good luck.

Driving down the street today listening to music and a screen comes on telling me it is pairing my phone. Weird!!!!!!!!
After spending all that time trying to pair it on the Bluetooth screen.
