  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So I just read an entry about someone who ordered a GV70 back in April of 2022. I thought I was getting ignored. I "ordered" or what I thought was ordered a GV70 back in June of 2022. The dealer tells me that Genesis does not take orders like other Luxury car dealers and that I have to wait until Genesis decides to build one like we want and hope it is scheduled to go to the dealership close to our home.

If they do then the dealer calls you and lets you know that a car like the one you want is on it's way. They also ask if they can put you in something similar. Why waste your time to "order" a car if the manufacturer will not deliver? Has anyone ever heard of such B.S.? If that is the case what a BAD business model they have decided to use. The question is why? Why can't I order a car just like you can from BMW or GM or Ford, or Audi, or any of them?

Is Genesis selling them so fast that they can dictate what you can buy from them? Has anyone else experienced this? I did not put any money down I was told by the dealer that they don't do that. So I am still waiting and the dealer is still offering me what Genesis sends but not what I "ordered". They do send a text every month or so and ask if they can answer any questions. My question is always when will I get the car I ordered? when will it arrive? Never have an answer other than I'll have my manager call you.

If you want a GV70, all you have to do is go to your local Genesis dealer and plop down $500.00. That’s it. Wait time is 8 months unless you get lucky. What’s so hard to understand?

You cannot order a Genesis. You cannot order a Toyota. You cannot order an Infiniti. Same with many other manufacturers. Dealers get an allocation list which indicates their incoming units that will be shipped to them in the near future. Your options are what is on that list. Different dealerships have different allocations. The lists typically have units that are incoming 1-2 months out.

If you call dealerships and they don't have what you want on their allocation list, your desired configuration essentially doesn't exist and there is nothing you can do to change that.
