Car Completely Dead

Car info: 2009 Genesis 4.6 V8 with 113,xxx miles. So earlier this week I parked and turned off the car. When I did so I noticed the steering wheel did not retract as it normally did and the car had no power. I manually locked all of the doors then went into my meeting. Following my meeting I approached the car and pressed the button on the door which to my surprise unlocked all of the doors. Got in pushed the start button and the car started with everything powering right up. Unfortunately for me just now the car did it again however it is not opening the doors or powering up and the gauges/dials are stuck in position. Is this a battery or a larger and more complex issue? Have any of you encountered this issue before?

When did you change your battery last?

Check battery's condition and make sure battery terminals are clean and tight and the black ground cable in trunk is clean and tight where it fastens to the trunk floor.

Replaced the battery and the car seems to be back to normal. Oddly enough upon returning to the car from going and buying the new battery, the car had power and turned on. This and the things with the locks was throwing me off a bit. I appreciate your help and quick response.

I had a similar issue with my 2009 V6. Every so often when I powered off the car it would go completely dead. I'd have to open the trunk manually with the physical key stick and jiggle the battery cables to make it come back. Took it to the dealership who reproduced the problem but couldn't determine the root cause. They re-seated the battery cables and it's never happened again.
