  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi everyone - 6 months reading this forum and after this Saturday I can now post. Just bought a 2012 3.8 Champagne / Cashmere Genny and am I stoked. Drove 100 miles to Virginia for a great deal and the car is beautiful. Now for the question, got back to Greensboro Sat afternoon and 60 minutes later we had a severe thunderstorm and I'm looking out the window to see hail bouncing off the car for almost 20 minutes straight { unfortunately no garage just 150 ft of tree lined driveway.} Thank God no damage! Can any of you recommend a good car cover- spent all day yesterday researching the internet and I'm more in the dark then before I started. Looking at a Carcraft Noah model which seems pretty good. Any help would be appreciated - Charlie

I had a noah model for my former bmw and it lasted for 3 years, then it got really thin from the UV. I think the warranty was 5y, so they replaced it ONCE. Keep your receipt. I think I got mine from autoanything ... looks like I'll be buying a new one soon for my new R-spec.

I bought a car cover from Target for about $55 that is pretty good. I'd love the car cover specifically made for the Genesis OEM, but I've seen prices of $300 and up for it, so no thanks on that. I don't park my car outside, but it's stored in my garage all winter with the cover on. The package states it's for full sized cars including the 7 series BMW, but the cover is just a little small, meaning it doens't fully cover the rear bumper nor the sides, but it works for a cheap price.

Does a car cover actually help with hail damage?

I've not experienced hail damage with a car cover, but I'd like to believe that small hail should not damage through the cover, but the medium and large stuff may:confused:

Yeah I can see that thought process. There has been some baseball size hail here. I'm getting a garage for my car here next month. (Live in an apartment)
