  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

went to start the car and the "no key recognized in vehicle" came up. I tried both fobs and same thing. I don't think it is the battery because everything else electrical works normally. Any suggestions. 4 years old and 60K miles. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. I called roadside and they arranged a tow for tomorrow morning. She thought that the fobs may have to be reprogrammed??

sounds like, both fob battery are weak

No both FOB batteries are strong and operate everything in the car but somehow the signal to the ignition from the fob is not connecting.
UPDATE Yesterday after googling my question it was suggested to hold the fob against the button you press and then press with FOB. Still not connecting. Arranged for tow to dealer and I went out this morning to put car in neutral so I could get it out of the garage and when I pressed the button to start the car !!!! BINGO, everything worked. Drove to dealer and after speaking to the other mechanics only one time before did they see this and after putting the fob against the start button, that Genesis worked fine also. No one has an explanation but the other car issue happened a while ago and never again. So far today I have driven, stopped and started several times without an issue. Just one of those things that can happen and no one knows why.
