Car overheating

Hello everyone, I recently got my water pump changed and was able to bleed the line, but the 2016 genesis 3.8 is still overheating. So the shop after doing the water pump they ended up putting a thermostat tuesday on for free, but it's still overheating as of yesterday when I was on the highway but soon as I came off the fan kicks in and cools it down. But also if I drive it on the streets for longer period of time the gauge starts to go up also or with the AC on. I'm tired of wrecking my brain. Do anyone have any thoughts or suggestions. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you. I have noticed a slight valve cover leak visibly on engine but it's not leaking underneath.

I'm impressed that you got a free thermostat out of them (if you really did). That's a way harder job than replacing the water pump.
Did you have overheating before replacing the water pump? Why was the pump replaced?

Oil leaking from the valve cover gaskets would very rarely make it all the way to the ground. It gets burned up on the exhaust manifold.

When it overheats, how much do you let it overheat?

It was prior to the pump being changed because that's what they suggested the problem was at shop. 2 notches past the middle

You need someone that will actually diagnose the problem, instead of throwing parts at it. At this point, I'd measure and compare the temperatures of the two radiator hoses to verify that the radiator is flowing. If that's good, then do a hydrocarbon test on the coolant. (I am assuming that the fan is working well.)

Yes the fan is. Will take it hyundai dealer since i have limited access in michigan where im located.
