  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Recently went to a car wash and that is mechanized.
Felt awkward after the wash and when tested, with hands off the steering wheel the car gradually pulls to right side. Is car expected to stay in line with hands off the steering wheel? Never really tested this before the car wash , I really don t know whether the car wash was responsible.
Any suggestions? Do I need to do wheel balancing or Alignment or both?
If these appear very basic questions, sorry for being ignorant.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

It might be following the pitch of the road (designed to help water run off )
that would be normal. You could drive in the left lane to see if it pull left.
If it still pulls right then I would expect wheel alignment problem

For one I would stay away from car washes as all they do is hurt your cars clear coat finish that protects your cars paint. (Just my opinion). Regarding the pulling to one side, that should be fixed with a 4 wheel alignment.

I would generally agree that statement about car washes but some use brushless method for washing cars and they are great to use in snow country
when it's too cold to wash it yourself. :)

I doubt the car wash is responsible for the alignment; the Genesis isn't known for having perfect alignment after the boat ride over. Take it to get a 4-wheel alignment.

Thank you guys for the responses.
Got the 4 wheel alignment done.
Problem solved. Genesis feels perfectly fine and stays in line.

Your welcome. By chance did you mark up how far off it was? Sometimes they give you a before and after report.

Stay out of the mechanized car washes - those racks will chew up your wheels and the brushes will kill your paint.
