Well I took my car to the local dealer to get the second key programmed and floor mats installed.
Althogether it took about 30 mins to get paperwork sorted out (these items were promised to me when I bought the Genesis, but the paperwork got lost in translation). Then another 45 mins to get the key programmed (it requires a computer program - not as easy as you might think). And finally 15 mins to install the floor mats.
The XM radio was not fixed today. Apparently it is a bigger problem than we first thought, and they will try to call Hyundai HQ to see what can be done to fix it. I have to bring it back another day when they are not so busy. Normally I can live without XM (and save on the subscription too) but in the case of the Genesis since XM is so integrated with the rest of the entertainment/nav system, I am worried that this is a symptom of a larger problem (even though everything else currently works fine) or that whatever is destroying the XM radio might spread to the other components which I do use (e.g. GPS, regular radio, bluetooth).
Fingers crossed.
