Not me, I actually run the crap out of my 2014 3.8 BH sedan and have been adding Lucas fuel stabilizer for most of her life than heard about Techron. from the wizards on this website ...what a world of difference.Has anyone experienced carbon build up in the engine and if so, how did you remedy the situation? Thanks..
Top Tier gas makes a difference too.Not me, I actually run the crap out of my 2014 3.8 BH sedan and have been adding Lucas fuel stabilizer for most of her life than heard about Techron. from the wizards on this website ...what a world of difference.

Walnut shell cleaning, that takes me back to the U.S. Army Huey days when the older vets talked about doing it to clean the turbine engine compressors.OP, if it's an early 20-teens GDI car, then walnut shell blasting is about the only thing that will take off a dozen+ years of carbon buildup in the head and intake manifold runners. Top Tier fuel, 5kmi synthetic oil changes, and occasional fuel system treatment are the best preventative measures. A proper walnut shell treatment will last about 60k, likely longer if the preventative measures and regular maintenance are kept up.

Thanks…I only put top tier gas (87 Shell) in mine. I haven't had the valves inspected for carbon, but it idles and accelerates the same, and mpg has remained steady.
Also do 5k synthetic oil changes.
Curious, the owners manual for our new 2025 BMW 330i (4cyl turbo) says not to use fuel additives, while my '19 G80 actually recommends it (if Top Tier fuels are not used).Years ago I was put on Techron thru the BMW M5 club locally..Its been a fixture ever since..one or twice a year, throw a bottle into the tank..
No kidding?? Wow, I didn't realize that had been a thing for such a long time. I only started hearing about it when direct injection became more common.
