If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

When I first purchased my 20 G70 I went out and bought all the ABS CF parts there were interior and exterior.

Then after purchasing the full ADRO(Mixed Versions) and other front bumper real CF parts(markers and aero pieces) and new emblems I have slowly been replacing that printed stuff.

Bought the full replacment side vents and so after visiting the wrap place and learning the wrap has actual CF inside giving it the real look I decided to just look one more time online

The wrap for the mirrors was $250 and most real CF caps I have seen were $300 to $400 but low and behold I grabbed a pair for only $90. I thought ok $250 for the wrap or $90 for the caps. They looked similar so I went with saving $150.

Today they came only a week later and I put them on. Much thinner in general than the ABS with a bit more flex but the fit is spot on and looks as real as my ADRO.

I attached some comparison photos. I would have given the ABS to anyone free but one cracked during removal.

Now to get the handles done however can't wrap them and I really do not want to spend $600 but I may have to leave the ABS or go back to stock.

NOTE: THe photo with it on the car was before I stuck it on so the part under the light is not stuck and it popping off.

Hi Phastroh,

Would you mind posting a link to the real carbon fiber caps? I'm seeing several places that claim to be real carbon fiber but pricing is all over the place, so I'm not certain and don't want the fake stuff. I purchased the boomerangs and door handles from Shark Racing and they look amazing. Just want the caps to match. Shark has caps, but they're the ones that need to be installed and I don't feel like disassembling the mirrors for installation.

Just noting that the "real" carbon fiber caps you're seeing everywhere aren't actual "parts" made of carbon fiber. It's just the overlay is genuine carbon fiber. I have sets of various items with the much more expensive "genuine" carbon fiber item right next to the non-genuine item and I can't tell the difference. I just want to make sure you're not expecting an actual carbon fiber'ized version of the OEM product. I once had somebody purchase carbon fiber style wing emblems from the forum store and when they got them - they were surprised to find they were just regular OEM emblems with a carbon fiber style coating. I told them there are no such thing as actual carbon fiber Genesis wing emblems - but they returned them anyway...

Thanks Sal. I understand. I'm looking for covers that attach to the mirrors with double sided tape. I checked the forum store and only saw the gloss black caps. I've heard some of the ABS carbon "look" caps delaminate after a while. I'd like something that lasts and matches any other carbon fiber pieces I add in the future. Do you have links to the products on the store?

That is not true. I had Red Reflective Carbon Fiver Emblems made for my car.

My front bumper has CF front signal and the boomerwrangs in the front bumper as well are CF.

I made several posts of them. $325 for both and that price is worth it over hydrodipped ones if you can afford it.

Hi,

Yes mine match IDENTICAL in looks to my ADRO kit.

I got them from Ebay for like $95

I was going to get them wrapped with the PPF that has real CF inside however it was $250.

I did not buy these thinking they were anything but exactly what they are and it is the caps with real CF overlay.

The seller on ebay is
OTDCAR02
OTDCAR02

They have them $104 OBO I think they have one left.

Look at my photos. That is the fake next to these caps. I have the ADRO kit, the front parts, the Side Vents all in real CF and no my side vents are the full replacements not cover which I posted a how to for install.

They all look the same as the caps. $90 and they look perfect.

Thank you, Phastroh. I read your boomerang installation tutorial. Great information! Appreciate the feedback on the mirror caps.

If you're looking for covers that apply only using 3M tape, I don't have those in the store. For the carbon "look" items, they can de-laminate if not done properly - but so can genuine carbon fiber overlays...

Yes, I should have noted that for the right price, you can have almost anything made. But is there a store that sells them where they don't have to be made to order?

They did have some in stock but how many I do not know but I wanted the custom color.

I think it is not a big deal if you want real ones though. My front markers and boomerwrangs were in stock and black emblems were also.

I guess it depends on what you want. Me? I am fine waiting lol it is just a few weeks and the car looks fine stock.

Yes, it makes sense. I just cannot, personally, spend the extra money for emblems actually made of genuine carbon fiber - over the overlaid emblems. I don't see the point. Now that's not to say there is no point! Just different strokes for different folks. Now I HAVE purchased genuine carbon fiber parts for times I wanted to reduce the weight in a car I was taking to the track. I thought that's what people liked about carbon fiber - the reduced weight. But for small items like emblems - I just never saw the point.

All that being said, I can't deny it's pretty darn cool to have emblems made through and through of carbon fiber. It's interesting. I guess I'm just too cheap to spend the extra loot! :p
