Pre preg does need an autoclave, vacuum source and a mold trypically so you can bag everything. Not a DIY process for most. I’ve seen homemade large ovens before so it’s possible. Your DIY process seems doable and much less a hassle than using the pre-preg method. If you ever plan to produce these to sell and wanted consistency and a faster process, pre-preg would provide that.

First of all thank you! And yes, it’s all dry weave CF, manually wet layup and drip dry + a lot of sanding after!! It’s not that hard, believe it or not this was my first steering wheel that i’ve done. I never worked with pre preg, I don’t vave an autoclave or anything like that, and no wrapping or bagging. I’m curious to work with pre preg but don’t you need an oven (autoclave) for that...high heat? Anyway if you like it you should give it a try, it’s easy and very satisfying! Still working on a front lip +diffuser made from a lip for the Genny coupe, CF trunk spoiler and i really want to make a AMG style rear diffuser with the trapezoidal exhaust!!!

Dude that turned out awesome this isnthe one I hade made by @g4werkz on IG but this looks damn good! I have a custom front lip and diffuser from a lexus im working on that i want to skin forged CF. I want to ask you about your resins and mats you use. Do you have an Instagram?

This is my wheel n shift knob.. have full housing CF mirrors as well! Beautiful work man im hoping to get some similar results on my projects!

Hi buddy, thank you for the compliments, it was a lot of work but worth it. I’ll attach pictures with what i used, nothing too fancy but in my experience they did the job well. The cloth is very nice, comes on a roll and it’s all nice and straight. And the resin does the job very well too. I love what you did with yours too. I’d like too see your lip, diffuser and mirror caps (those are my next to do things as well). I’m also working on a custom CF trunk spoiler. I’m still working in putting an instagram profile together, As soon as i do i’ll follow you for sure

Dude that spoiler is awesome and definitely Unique to this car I love all the DIY custom stuff youre doing thats what is great about this car with its little aftermarket options it forces you to be creative or be the same as everyone else lol

You have a lot going on too my friend! Very nice so far!!! Are the mirrors DIY??? Very very nice! I saw some side skirts in there!! I love the color! How is the splitter coming along? Does it take a lot to make it work?If you need some help or inspiration let me know! It feels so good to see other loving these old girls.
