  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have had the MSA cat deletes on for a bit over a month now and am just now getting a video put up. When I put the deletes on I developed (created) an exhaust leak. It is 100% reversible and was wondering what you guys thought.
Video on the tube

It says "This video is private" - can't watch it.

With just the cat delete alone there is no discernible increase in exhaust sound - had cat deletes on four Genesis and now on my Equus.

I bought a set of used MSA secondary cat deletes from a member here and also found that they had audible exhaust leaks at the bolt holes. It took a ton of trial and error but with a different set of bolts I was able to eliminate the leak by tightening it just right. Its a bit of a pain for sure but you can probably fix it.

I think I might have been misunderstood just a bit with the exhaust "leak". I intentionally created the leak as an experiment to goof around since I was under the car putting on the pipes. I originally had no intention of keeping it setup that way, but have since then gotten lots of compliments and questions about the car. I was wanting to get some fellow Genesis owners opinions on the sound.
I guess the video from the inside is not the best. I will try and get a video up from the outside to give better perspective.

Oh I see, you're asking what we think of you creating an intentional exhaust leak on your top spec Genesis Sedan. I could use a string of unkind words but I'll just leave it at a bad idea. It falls expressly under the category ghetto mods.
