  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Looking around for 5.2 audio for the Lexicon, I drifted into downloading .flac audio files from www.hdtracks.com. Played through WINAMP, these babies make my desktop speakers sound like I-don't-know-what, and I can only imagine what the NHTs will do with them when I figure out how to play them through the mains. However, I stuck some .flac files on a stick and stuck the stick into the Genesis, and the Lexicon does not recognize the format. Is there an audiophile in the house who knows how I can bridge .flac files into the car? In particular, what if I copy them whole-hog onto the iPhone? Or, can I burn them onto a DVD in a format that will play as a DVD-A?

Asking a lot, I know. Thanks in advance.

You'll need to burn your hi-def FLAC files to DVD-A. If you are a Windows user, Cirlinca's DVD-Audio Solo will get the job done. http://cirlinca.com/products.htm . There's also a good website with useful information on how-to author your DVD-A for free here: http://www.surroundbyus.com/sbu/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=11 . Mac users can use this free program http://download.cnet.com/DVD-Audiofile/3000-2170_4-85889.html?tag=vtredir to author the DVD-A. You can also have fun by reading this: http://www.quadraphonicquad.com/forums/showthread.php?10570-How-Do-I-make-a-DVD-A :) Good luck.
