Hello everyone.
I posted a similar question/discussion on the Reddit page but had no responses so I thought I'd try here:
I haven't seen any discussion of the new ccIC that's on the 2023 G90 and the GV60 (see attached photo from qt.io's article "A deeper look into the Genesis GV60 digital cockpit").
I was set on getting a GV80 a little while back and was impressed with my test drive except for the infotainment system; it felt clunky and limited in customization. After the following videos were added to YouTube I decided to hold off until the next interior/system update:
The ccIC is exactly what I was waiting for: it looks much cleaner and polished and feels sophisticated, design-wise (I was not a fan of the darkened but shiny graphics of the current system on the GV80). The customizable widget of the right panel is a huge plus - I'd be coming from the MBUX system where all three panels of the dashboard can be changed. E.g. I'd have left: speedometer/clock/media, center: map/consumpsion/media similarly on the right. I'd adjust the combination depending on the purpose of my drive.
I'm very pleased to see Genesis improving the system to match what's available on the brands its trying to compete with. But I'm skeptical of how long it would take for the ccIC to arrive on the rest of the line-up.
I spent a lot of time in my car and would be spending even more in a GV80. So the infotainment system of my next car is a make-it-or-break-it thing for me. I was willing to live with the current system on the GV80 but seeing that there's an improved one hopefully coming made it hold off a bit, especially if I plan on keeping the car for 5+ years.
Owners, any thoughts on the differences between the current system and the new ccIC?
Many thanks on your input.
