If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone use any type of CD GPS mount on the sedan? I am aware of the prolonged use on the CD slot but I can't seem to find a clean looking alternative to mounting an aftermarket GPS on the sedan. I don't care for the windshield mounts. My concern is the possibility of the mount sticking out to far and getting in the way of the shift knob. I also have not used CD's for a while as all my music is in a USB stick. The mount I was looking at are below with the links. I do NOT want to mount it to the dash and or windshield.

I use the Mountek Ngroove Snap to hold my iphone. Works great. Occasionally I have to pull it out and reseat it. It seems to work its way loose at times.

Wait do you have the mount I listed on the link if so can you kindly measure it installed in the CD slot so I know IF with the GPS attached it will interfere with my GPS....PLEASE :(

Not sure if it matters but I have the 2013 sedan if it may be different from say the 2011 models..........

I have used a Garmin beanbag mount on the dash. It is not permanent and I only used it when needed (I don't use a GPS all that often). I think it is the safest solution, because it can be placed just to the right of the instrument cluster on top of dash, so don't have move my head to see it. I used it with a 4" Garmin which made it less obtrusive, and the 4" size was plenty big enough for me, especially since it was a lot closer than most GPS positions in the center of the dash.

Mark thanks for the reply but I don't want to mount anything on the dash nor windshield.

The GPS I have is a rather large one at 7.4 wide / screen size 7 inch. Which is why I am looking for a way to use it in the car.

Sorry I don't have the same mount you have.

I don't have any mount but just looking for one that will work with the curvature of the CD face. I was leaning towards the Snap one with the magnetic hold.
