  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Saw a video the other day and the center digital display showed a compass. I don't have that. Is there an option to get this?

If you have the Navigation option installed the compass displays when you are just driving without a planned route. If you program a route it becomes turn by turn directions.

I don't believe that my R-Spec does this. Mine shows a map regardless if there is a destination programed, unless I've missed something.

No not on the nav screen but on the center screen in the center dash.

Just click the Display button on your steering wheel.

Clicking it once will cycle through the display options as follows:

Distance to empty --> Average speed --> Elapsed time --> Average Fuel Consumption --> Instant fuel consumption --> Compass --> Radio/XM station or CD or MP3

(My Genny is home today or I'd check for you to make sure I didn't miss any. We took the van to the inlaws for Easter today... sigh...)

If you have your smart cruise on, it seems to always revert back to that smart cruise distance display whenever a car is detected in front of you.

I dont have the last two options. Weird.

Do you keep your Trip button on "Trip" or on "Odo"? I keep mine on Odo... not sure if that makes a difference or not.

Very mysterious!

By the way, the compass display is pretty worthless... I have it on my mirror anyway!

Oh... and believe it or not, I still haven't seen nav on my center display. I've had the car for a month and a half! I guess when you only drive locally, you don't have much need for navigation. I'll make it a point to check tomorrow :)

It's always on odo. I don't see where I can select any other setting to display or not.

No compass on m center display. I'll ask the dealer next time I'm there.

Mine has all from your list, plus 'Eco' mode, which I have shut off. When Nav has a destination set, I get an arrow and the descending bar graph, which replaces another display mode, I can't remember which one.

I knew I forgot one! Eco mode. I have that too.

You can turn that off?
