  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just bought a 2026 G90 and asking for advice if I should do a ceramic coating and if so, what details should I know before I do it.

Probably one of the best things that you can do for your vehicle.
Just make sure you bring it to a reputable detail shop that will prep the paint before applying the ceramic coating. Very important.

Mine is almost 3 years old now and still holds up very well. Shine likes crazy, is easy to clean and repels water like nobody's business. LOL
Just make sure you do the car washes with the proper brand maintenance item. How I do it is, I wash the car using the rinseless wash method, doing 2 or 3 panels a time, depending on how hot it is outside, and then before drying the panels, I spray the ceramic coating maintenance spray and then wipe off the water along with the maintenance spray. So, it extended the life of the ceramic coating and helps with having little to no streaks.

Thank you
I asked this question on ChatGTP. Here is the crux of their reply:

The setup I’d recommend for you

Since you’re keeping it long-term and doing some highway:
  • PPF (Paint Protection Film): front bumper + mirror caps + at least partial hood/fenders
  • (full hood if you’re picky)
  • Ceramic: everything else (and optionally over the PPF too)

Depending on how handy you are, you can do this yourself with like a graphene ceramic coating in a weekend. I have done it a few times to my cars. On my white G90, it is very hard to tell I have a coating on it, until it rains, then it beads like crazy and blows right off. I also did my whole front end with PPF (had it done). I also coated the PPF.
